Tyler Herman ‘19 runs on the the Cross Country team for Port Huron High.
Tyler feels upset over the fact that this race was the last of this year, because he will miss being with his team and constantly running. After cross country ends, Herman plans on participating in powerlifting and track to stay in shape until cross country starts up again next season. Herman said at regionals, “I had a lot of fun with the team. The other teams put up a big challenge for us.” As Herman was crossing the finish line he said he felt “death in its final form.” When the season is going from beginning to end, Herman says when preparing to race stretching is his go to, but that athletes cannot forget to eat and stay hydrated. Lastly, he also stresses that “being mentally prepared is important too.” Overall, Herman held a solid personal record throughout the season.
