If you were put in the same position as these two young adults who do you think you’d give your vote too? Will it be Trump, or will it be Clinton? If you’re of the age of 18 then you get to decide who will be your choice. Blake Spencer ‘18 is a student at Port Huron High School. Blake says that he is voting for Donald Trump, he said, “I really like his mindset and what he is going to do for our country, I believe that he is the best fit out of the two major candidates to win the election.” Blake says that he is a Republican. He believes that Donald Trump is best fit for office, because he thinks that he really has the mindset of making America the best that it can be and really feels like Donald has the best ability to accomplish that. Blake thinks that for the best of America’s future, we need to get jobs back in line and get the housing market back where it needs to be. Even though Blake is a Republican he says that his ideal candidate would have been Bernie Sanders if he would have beat Hillary. The Election for president was close. Donald Trump ended up winning the election with 310 electoral votes compared to Hillary Clinton’s 228 electoral votes. All night both candidates were neck and neck fighting for the spot as president of United States Of America. Donald Trump is a businessman so giving that he has little to none governmental background makes it crazy that he actually won. This election will go down in history as one of the most surprising outcomes ever.
Sam Eipperle ‘20 is a member of the boys cross country team here at PH, He stated that his reasoning for participating in Cross Country was “because I always had a passion for running and it builds my confidence.” Eipperle said he was happy that the Cross Country teams being recognized at the assembly for their hard work. For anyone considering joining Cross Country, Eipperle recommends to “push yourself, keep going and don't give up.” Running involves a lot of mental struggle, because “There's a lot going on with your form and around you, so it's hard to concentrate and keep a clear head.” The thing he found least difficult about Cross Country was that if he kept a good form, the running itself wasn't that bad. Eipperle’s inspiration for being part of Cross Country came from Armond Hicks ‘19, because of his speed and agility. Eipperle claims his motivation behind being a part of Cross Country was wanting to prove that he could do it and stick with it. He wanted to show himself and others that anything was possible with hard work.
