What is SC4 day? SC4 day is an annual day where seniors leave their high schools for about 2 hours to tour the campus of their local community college (SC4) and learn about the different programs they offer. I interviewed senior, Haley Gonzales ‘17 about SC4 day and she said that the trip really helped her with ideas for after high school because she wants to go into the medical field. Haley said that her favorite part about the trip was getting to see the new birthing mother dummy the nursing program now has to practice with. She has aspirations to be either a pharmacist or a neonatal nurse hoping to achieve this goal or part of this goal from SC4 because it is close to home and cheaper than a University. Never take your eye off the prize Haley and good luck in the future!
“It went amazing,” says Angela to describe her 2nd time performing at the halloween concert at PHHS on monday. Asked on how she thought the bands did as a whole she replied with “We all did good”. All bands at PHHs perform two concerts, one for the public, and one for the Roosevelt school just down the street. Asked which performance she prefers to do the most she says “Roosevelt because i get to see all of the little elementary kids dress up for us”. Angela had the role of playing the duck character in the russian folk tale Peter And The Wolf. She did well by staying in character and making the audience laugh. Yet again a new tradition at PHHS takes off as the school evolves to better itself.
